It is a demanding lifestyle requiring dedication, resilience, focus, a good deal of self-sacrifice, combined with a positive mindset and the ability to stay motivated, especially when things aren’t going so well, whether through a performance dip, injury, burnout or other ‘life’ issues outside of your sport. A Life Coach for athletes understands the subtle nuances of what an athlete does on a day-to-day basis, the challenges you encounter, and the type of planning required for the future.
You are not just an athlete, you are a human being, and as such you are dependent on all aspects of your life working efficiently. If one or two areas of your life, is causing you concern, this will have a knock-on effect on your performance.
A Personal Bests coaching programme will help you assess your whole life, using the Wheel of Life Coaching Tool, evaluating where you are in key areas (such as, Finances, Career, Fun & Recreation, Professional Development, Relationships, Personal Growth, Health, and Physical Environment), identify areas where change is needed, set clearly defined goals in those areas, and devise action plans to get you there. In parallel with this we work with you on the internal interferences, such as negative thinking habits and self-limiting beliefs which may be preventing you from performing at your best.
